In an increasingly legislated and litigious
climate, the requirement for expert financial
advice in order to support director's actions
or for lawyers to effectively put their
client's case has never been greater.
The Nexia ASR commitment
is to ensure the timely delivery of well
researched, conclusive and clear reports
backed up by experience in providing concise
expert testimony when required.
A broad range of experience and expertise
within the firm enables us to provide and
extensive range of experts reports and evidence
for public documents and litigation support
including:
Investigating Accountants and Profit
Forecast Reports for company prospectuses,
PDS information memoranda, takeover documents,
share buy backs and capital reductions and
schemes of arrangement. The Partners in
our corporate advisory team have considerable
experience in all of these areas and particularly
in IPO assignments. Much of our work in
such assignments has required our extensive
involvement in the due diligence process
undertaken on the company prior to the completion
of the offer documents containing our reports.
Independent Expert’s Reports
in relation to corporate transactions pursuant
to either the Corporations Act requirements
or the listing rules of the Australian Stock
Exchange. The Partners in our Corporate
Advisory practice have been responsible
for the preparation of IERs in relation
to a number of high profile transactions
over the past 10 years.
Forensic Accounting in relation
to Litigation Support and Dispute Resolution
for contract, commercial and family law
matters. Typically these involve:
- Business/asset valuations
- Forensic investigation of transactions,
disposition of assets and identifying
the existence and legal ownership of assets.
- Insurance claims and loss assessments;
- Analysis and comment on the work/evidence
of other accountants.
Our team has extensive experience in the
early identification of key business and
financial issues, applying knowledge through
the discovery process, objectively drawing
conclusions from financial and other evidence,
responding to other expert evidence and
communicating effectively when giving expert
testimony.
A high level tax expertise within the firms
also enables us to provide informed advice
on capital gains and other tax issues associated
with such matters.
